Camp Winding Gap Salary and Benefits Information

Salary and benefits:
Weekly base salary starting at $150 with incremental increases based on skills and certifications.
Room, board, Worker's Compensation, and laundry done by camp staff.
Incremental increases below are added to base salary.

Timetable:
Staff arrival at the camp: Evening of June 7
Mandatory staff training:  Evening of June 7 through June 14
Camper Arrival: July 15
Last Day of Camp: August 8:
Staff departure: Morning of August 10.
8-week pay period begins June 15 through August 8.
Seven day training session is compensated with room and board.


Weekly Salary for the 8-week SUMMER ADVENTURES Program.
Minimum age for camp staff is 19. Special exceptions for 18 year old staff applicants are made in consideration of skills.

Incremental increases:
All certifications must be current for 2008.  Licenses and/or certifications must be valid for North Carolina and the county the camp is in (Transylvania County).  Lifeguard Instructors must be able to train and certify in-camp staff and campers and to transfer their instructor status to county Red Cross Branch camp is located in.  Camp Winding Gap must be able to utilize certifications/licenses in order to award incremental increases.  Staff trained in-house or trained at camp expense for certifications are not eligible for incremental increases for that certification.

Climbing Instructor Certification $10 / week
Outdoor Living Skills Instructor Certification $10 / week
Certified Infirmary staff- EMTs, Paramedics, Medics $30 / week
Nursing Students 1st or 2nd year $20 / week
Nursing Students 3rd or 4th year $30 / week
LPN $40 / week
RN $50 / week
Kitchen and Maintenance personnel (Support Staff-full time)
 $25 / week
Kitchen Manager $40 / week
Travel Allowance- 0-500 miles $15 / week
Travel Allowance 500 miles+ $25 / week
Former Camp Winding Gap staff (for each previous year)
 $15 / week
Senior Counselor positions  Currently N/A for 2008
 $20 / week
Senior Staff positions  N/A for new applicants
