The Lodge
The Lodge is the main camp building. It houses the Lodge room, which has a lovely rock fireplace, used on cool evenings. Activities that take place here include sewing classes, quiet games, and talent shows. It has a large library including books, jigsaw puzzles and board games. Movies and singing in the Lodge offer a closeness with friends. Camp offices, laundry, and kitchen are in the back. The Dining Hall wraps the front, facing the lake. The covered activity porch houses ping-pong and fooseball tables. The activity porch is also used for dances and games during Evening Programs. The open porches are great for "hanging out." The lake even has a waterslide! |
| The Barns Although the program at Camp Winding Gap emphasizes a fine Pack & Trail program, the barns house many activities that are available by camper choice. On the right there is a chicken barn where eggs are gathered and hens and chicks are fed. Upstairs is a well-equipped Woodworking Shop. On the left is the Horse Barn, with stalls and feed and tack rooms downstairs, and upstairs are storage and teaching areas. Riding rings provide campers with a large area for instruction and rodeos. A large pole barn housing the camp equipment is located just beyond the Woodworking barn to the right. The camp Trading Post is just above the barns past the soccer field. |

The Land
Camp Winding Gap is situated on thirty acres of land surrounded by National Forests on three sides. This offers miles of hiking, biking, and riding trails in nearly every direction! In addition, the camp also owns two additional properties: "Horse Haven" is a large pasture about two miles from camp and is used for cabin and horseback overnights, as well as the launch site for the rocketry program. "Wildwood" is a 15 acre mini-farm complete with garden, small swimming pond, platform tents, soccer and volleyball fields, and campfire areas. Two years ago we purchased 8+acres on nearby Wolf Lake and created an outpost for canoeing, biking, hiking, and all-camp overnights. During the longer sessions campers can participate in canoe day and overnights and occasionally we take the entire camp up for the night. |
| The
Riding Rings The Riding Program uses three teaching rings, one large ring (right) and two smaller used for more individualized teaching. Riding rings provide campers with a large area for instruction and rodeos. |

All cabins are fully winterized and are usually leased during the off-season to various individual families, school groups, and other organizations and business groups who wish to enjoy a remote mountain atmosphere. All cabins have electricity, bathrooms, large open porches, and capacity for 12 or more campers and at least two staff. |
